About this Site
Hidden Patterns of the Civil War brings together a number of interrelated digital humanities projects that shed new light on the sectional crisis and emancipation. Loosely grouped as "texts" and "mappings," these projects uncover patterns in Civil War history that are most evident when we write and think about them while using new tools and techniques. These patterns and the tools that make them possible enrich our scholarship and suggest stories that still remain to be told.
