—The alarm of fire yesterday morning was caused by the partial burning of the large brick house on 12th street, near Cary. The roof took fire from some defect in the chimney, and the flames getting between the sheeting and rafters spread rapidly.—Soon after the alarm was given the fire brigade, with a portion of its apparatus, reached the scene, and in an incredibly short time extinguished the fice. The building was occupied by a number of women, who sustained some damage to their furniture by the water from the engines.
