—Thomas Hearne, of Shreveport, La., died on the 30th ult., from injuries received from a burning tree which fell upon him. He was hunting tree which fell upon him. He was hunting turkeys at night in company with his neighbors, and the party kindled a fire against a tree and laid down to sleep until morning. They were aroused by the falling tree, and Mr. Hearne in attempting to escape was crushed into the fire Before he could be extricated from his horrible position, he had sustained such mortal injury that he died a painful and lingering death.
